Families often come to BASG after previous evaluations identified communication challenges but could not fully explain them. Jamie specializes in comprehensive communication evaluations for students with complex, overlapping, and high-masking communication profiles.

Her evaluations integrate standardized assessment with real-world communication analysis to explain why communication access changes across environments, demands, and contexts.

Rather than describing scores alone, BASG connects assessment findings to lived functioning—including communication access, masking, executive functioning, regulation, and the conditions that support authentic performance.

Clinical Philosophy

The evaluation should explain the student, not just describe the scores.

Strong performance in a quiet testing room does not always predict access in the real world.

A student may demonstrate vocabulary, reasoning, or social knowledge during structured assessment and still struggle to retrieve language, organize thoughts, interpret ambiguity, or advocate when demands accumulate.

That discrepancy is often the central clinical question. BASG looks carefully at when access changes, what increases the load, and what supports more authentic functioning.

The goal is a clinically grounded explanation families and professionals can use—not another layer of disconnected data.
